In North Carolina, Bail Agents are an essential part of the criminal justice system.  In a recent story reported by WRAL in Raleigh, the bail bond industry was portrayed as essential and effective.  When defendants don’t show up for court a lot of time and money is needed to process the paperwork and go and get them.  That is of course unless a commercial bail agent is involved.  Unlike public sector pretrial release agencies that rely on taxpayer dollars to operate and require public resources like law enforcement to serve warrants, the commercial bail industry costs North Carolina $0.  In fact, commercial bail bond agents are the only entity in the entire North Carolina criminal justice system that guarantees its performance.  Check out the story below.
