This scared 7-year-old girl from New Jersey called 911 when she thought she did something that would get her in BIG trouble with Santa. She touched her Elf on the Shelf!
Isabella LaPeruta called the cops after accidently touching her Elf on the Shelf, which many of us know is a HUGE no-no during the holiday season! Why? Because it takes away the Elf’s Christmas magic!
She was clearly panicked when on the phone with the 911 operator and told them not to come to her house. She said that she was going to call her dad to tell him about the accident, but was too scared. Luckily, she had the sweetest 911 operator ever, who started to talk her off of the ledge.
“You can just say you made a mistake,” said the operator. Although Isabella begged the operator not to send the police, they are required to check out any 911 calls from a child, so an officer went to the house, only to find the poor girl in tears.
After the police officer calmed her down, the mother woke up from a nap and found her daughter begging the cop to leave.
“She was hysterical crying, she was panicking,” said her mother. The girl admitted that she was terrified she was going to get in BIG trouble. Not only from Santa, but from her parents and the police!
Evidently, her poor elf fell onto the floor when she threw a ball in the home and it hit her elf. She apologized over and over and swore she would never call 911 for something like that again!
Luckily, the police were in the holiday spirit and were understanding. They knew that to her, a poor little 7-year-old, it definitely was an emergency! She thought she ruined Christmas!
The police were happy to assure her that everything was going to be okay and talked to her about what a true emergency was. So sweet!
