We all know that bachelor parties have the capacity to get a little rowdy sometimes, but this groom-to-be and his buddies are facing fines of up to $27,000 after they took it to a whole new level, literally at 20,000 feet in the air!
The men were “under the influence of alcohol” (and a lot of it) while flying to Europe for a bachelor party. They became unruly, refused to stay in their seats and clashed with the entire cabin crew. Some even started acting aggressively towards the flight attendants after they were refused more alcohol.
Things took an even more interesting turn… one of the men took his clothes off! The pilot finally had to divert the plane before they reached their destination because the men had misbehaved so badly.
Six men, between the ages of 25 and 28, were detained by police upon landing. Six more from the same group were allowed to stay on board and continue to their destination.
The men were eventually released after several hours. In addition to the high fines, they also could be targeted with civil claims from the low-cost airline that they were flying on, Ryanair.
“We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behavior at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority,” Ryanair said in a statement.
This might be the first time the bachelor party ends up being more expensive than the actual wedding!
