Little did this second grader know that his “gardening” story would lead to the bust of the “farmer” he was helping to make sure all of his plants grew nice and strong!

Steven Mann, 54, was arrested and charged with a felony count of cultivating more than 25 marijuana plants at a large indoor marijuana growing operations. He pleaded innocent and was eventually released on a $10,000 unsecured appearance bond.

Turns out Mr. Mann probably shouldn’t have had his girlfriend’s little boy help him to grow all of these “special plants” he was taking care of. The boy told school officials all about his green thumb stories and how he was helping Mr. Mann grow plants that could “cure anything at all.”

School officials thought it sounded an awful lot like pot plants. Top that with the boy telling them that there were a lot of people coming to his house to get these special plants. They decided they better call the cops.

The police found two “grow rooms” right next to the boy’s bedroom and seized around $700 in cash, along with paraphernalia. We’re not sure why he’s pleading innocent on this one and it doesn’t sound like it will work out too well for him.

The cops said that additional charges are expected to be filed and the Department for Children and Families has launched their own investigation into the matter, as well.
Mann has no prior criminal record, but his little business could land him in jail for up to 15 years if he’s convicted!
