Oregon...No Bail Bondsmen = More Fugitives

Fugitives in OregonCall it sub-human nature or just call it criminals being criminals, but there is no doubt that when you remove the concept of accountability from the criminal justice system you can gaurantee yourself one will have lots of fugitives.  It has been proven time and time again, that when someone is released pretrial without any financial security the chances of them showing up in court go down significantly.  Just look at the state of Oregon, who does not allow commercial bail bondsman.  According to a recent news story, the state of Oregon is dealing with a fugitive crisis that at one point exceeded 30,000 outstanding warrants in just one county alone.
