You know that it was only going to be a matter of time before we wrote another bail bond blog post about the growing phenomenon of “Selfie Incrimination.” This occurs when a person’s desire to take a selfie outweighs the person’s desire for common sense.  And yes…this happens regularly thanks to social media.

The latest victim of Selfie Incrimination is a young man out of Kentucky.  While this man didn’t actually take a picture of his own face, he still got himself caught be police.  Instead of a traditional selfie of you looking cool or sexy, this guy simply took a picture of himself in a mask. Probably thinking that the mask would hide his identity the young man snapped the selfie without a care in the world.  What he didn’t realize is that the mask selfie directly tied him to the crime that was committed because he wore the mask in the crime.  So next time you are thinking of taking an anonymous selfie, think again, because the shirt you are wearing, or the phone case you have might give someone (hopefully not the cops) all the evidence they need to track you down.  For this Kentucky man, hopefully he will learn the lesson that crime doesn’t pay, even if you take a cool photo of it.
