Has people’s love affair with social media gone too far? After reading today’s bail bond blog post you might think that it has. There is no doubt that in life people want and need connections. Many have even said that the more real social connections you have the healthier you will be. Well one woman in Clearwater, Florida took this idea a little too seriously and could handle the rejection.
This past week, a Florida woman was arrested for aggravated battery when she attacked her 72 year old grandmother with a “slap” attack. Why? Did the grandmother forget to buy her a Christmas gift? No. Did the grandmother embarrass her in front of her friends? No. What did she do? The grandmother simply did not accept the granddaughter’s friend request on Facebook. Seriously, as if being her grandmother in the real world as opposed to her friend in the virtual world wasn’t enough.
Anyway, the woman is being held in jail on a $10,000 bond. Meanwhile, she has sent a Facebook friend request out to her defense attorney, but we haven’t heard whether it has been accepted yet. For some reason we think it might be wise to just accept it and avoid another Facebook Felony. By the way, we made that last part up. Read the original story below.
