In today’s tough economy, people are resorting to anything and everything to get by…even faking it.  And we are not talking about the “Faking it” that you are probably thinking about right now.  Today’s bail bond blog is talking about a much more devious and desperate form of faking it.  We are talking about faking cancer.

It is probably one of the most common scams that we have seen lately on social media.  People telling other people that they are sick with cancer.  What happens after that is pretty maddening.  Communities do what they are meant to do…they start pulling together to help the person.  They ask others for money, they hold fundraisers, they put out pleas for help on social media and any other thing they can do to make the guise complete.  Little does anyone know that the person claiming to be sick isn’t really sick with cancer, rather they are just sick in the head.

The latest perpetrator of this unethical and disgusting con is a woman from Logan Utah. This woman created a GoFundMe page where she raised approximately $3000 and had a fundraiser thrown for her that collected over $16,000.  Reports are not clear about how much of this money she actually received, but we do know that she won’t be spending it anytime soon.  She was turned in to authorities through an anonymous tip and is now being held on a $50,000 bail bond.  Read the original story below.
