It seems reasonable to go to the police to see if they have something that you lost. It’s your basic lost & found scenario, right? However, this man lost something that he definitely wasn’t going to get back and got him arrested instead. So what was it? Oh, just a briefcase full of cocaine.

The 19-year-old suspect stopped to pet a dog, when he accidently left his briefcase behind. The dog’s owner, not thinking anything of it, grabbed it and gave it to an officer who happened to be directing traffic close by. That must have been one heck of a cute dog!

But when the officer opened it to try to figure out who the owner was, he found more than he was bargaining for!

He found four large bags and 27 smaller bags full of cocaine. It amounted to 154 grams, all together! Luckily, it also contained the man’s ID, cell phone, a scale and a small amount of weed, too. Okay maybe it wasn’t that cute of a dog and he was just high as a kite.

Surprisingly, the owner stopped back in the same area soon after and asked the officer if he had found a briefcase. He claimed he had important paperwork in it that he needed right away.

He was quickly arrested and charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. Talk about an easy win for the cops! They didn’t even have to hunt him down!
