This hungry burglar in Daytona, FL was apprehended easily since he was found lying down on the side of the road across the street from where he stole items from only hours earlier! Being a thief is tiring work!
After shattering the front glass door by using a large bucket filled with cement that smokers use to dispose of their cigarette butts, he proceeded to grab several packs of cigarettes, a lighter, a sandwich and a soda. Looks like he was all set and just needed to make a clean getaway!
But when the store owner checked out the surveillance video, he recognized him as a previous customer whose credit card had been declined the day before. That’s when he was spotted across the street with some of the stolen items still in his possession.
Police discovered that Dave Toliver, the suspect, was homeless. He was charged with burglary, petty theft and criminal mischief. He was then taken to jail, where he was being held on a $3,250 bail bond.
