Unless you have lived under a rock, in a cave or in a van down by the river for the past couple years, than you know what twerking is.  If you happen to be one of the people that falls into the above mentioned categories, than you are going to want to read the next bail bond blog post and learn what twerking is and why one town in Louisiana is all twerked out.

This past week in DeQuincy, Louisiana it was reported that city officials have declared that twerking is now illegal.  The official press release states, “The dance craze twerking has become such a problem in the small town of DeQuincy, Louisiana, that city officials have made it illegal…and first time offenders will receive a mandatory 30 days in the county jail.”  Wow, just when you thought the movie Footloose (starring Kevin Bacon) couldn’t come to life, it has (if you are too young to know what Footloose is about, it is a movie where the small Midwest town decided that dancing was illegal).

According to the release, Mayor of DeQuincy stated that “twerking is a defiant act against Jesus” and then continued to say that DeQuicny will still allow dancing…just no jigglin’, shakin, and dry humping anywhere in our city limits.”

The best part about this story is that when asked about his comments, the mayor had no idea what people were talking about.  In fact, the press release was actually a fake.  Apparently someone has been sending out fake press releases about this small Louisiana town.  A previous “fake” release from a few months ago actually said that all Koreans were going to be banned from the town.

Whew, that was close.  What would we all do without twerking.  Read the original article below.
