A few months ago we posted an article listing the top 10 most dangerous neighborhoods in America.  Since we received such a good response to that bail bond blog post, we thought we would turn the tables and post our next bail bond blog on the top 10 safest cities in America.  This list was taken from neighborhoodscout’s list of the top 100 cities.

According to the article, the list is compiled based on cities with 25,000 or more people and the number of property and violent crimes per 1000 residents.  The list is as follows:

#10  Shrewsbury, MA (7.74 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 86% of US cities)
#9    Ballwin, MO (7.68 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 86% of US cities)
#8    Sammamish, WA (7.61 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 86% of US cities)
#7    Lexington, MA (7.47 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 86% of US cities)
#6    Johns Creek, GA (7.11 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 88% of US cities)
#5    Rancho Santa Margarita, CA (7.06 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 88% of
    US cities)
#4    Greenwich, CT (6.31 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 90% of US cities)
#3    Parma, OH (6.26 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 90% of US cities)
#2    Bergenfield, NJ (6.17 crimes per 1000 residents – safer than 90% of US cities)

And the number one safest city in America is…..
