A man recently had his iPad stolen along with thousands of dollars in cash and electronics from his truck. Who knew that one of the stolen items would actually help him to catch the suspects! It seems to be happening more and more these days.

“I think they felt elated that they got away with such a big score,” Randy Schaefer said.
The thieves got away with a bag that had $5,000 in cash, a MacBook Pro laptop and an iPad. Who has $5,000 in cash sitting in their truck to begin with?!

Imagine Schaefer’s surprise when he found 17 selfies taken by two men at a local Burger King pop up on his iCloud photo stream! He quickly realized it was more than likely the thieves who stole his high-value bag! Even worse? They had the cash in their mouths, smiling and bragging about their big score!

Sure enough, video of the same people showed up quickly on YouTube. By the time the cops were able to catch up to the men at Burger King, they were long gone, but they did find some of the stolen items in an alley close by.

They definitely didn’t think about Wi-Fi connecting to the iPad and syncing their selfies for Schaefer to see! Pretty dumb!

While the men have yet to be caught, hopefully it won’t take long now that the cops have some convenient selfies onhand.
