The residents of an apartment complex had had enough of never being able to find the TV remote control in the common area! Turns out a man had been repeatedly stealing it, but worse yet, this wasn’t his first time! For his violations, he was sentenced to 22 years in prison!
Eric Bramwell, 35, was found guilty of burglary and was eligible for an extended-term sentence because of his past criminal history.
Evidently, he continued to enter the common area of the apartment building and stole the universal remote for the TV. He made a big mistake, though, when he dropped one of his gloves in the common area. DNA was taken from it and matched to Bramwell’s DNA in a database of convicted felons, which led to his arrest.
Evidently, this is kind of his thing. He has committed similar thefts of remotes and TVs in other apartment complexes in towns around the area. What a weird fetish!
Looks like he wasn’t able to avoid the consequences this time around! He will also be required to serve half of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
Even worse? The judge who sentenced him also sentenced him to six months in jail a few months ago because he used profane language in court.
