Shoplifting Selfie Slip-ups and Facebook Confessions

Thursday, December 19, 2013

criminal confessionsYes, it happened again.  Another person took an inappropriate selfie just after committing a crime and then bragged about it on Facebook.  That is the topic of today’s bail bond blog post.

Earlier this week in Albuquerque, New Mexico, two young women were just going about their business at a Kmart.  Their business was unfortunately the business of shoplifting and their accomplices were unfortunately there two small children.  But as usual, that isn’t even the worst part of this story.  Not only did the women shoplift while with their kids, they ran from store security, jumped in their car (without securing the children in car seats) and struck a security guard with their car.  To top it off, one of the woman decided to go home, take a new selfie for her Facebook page, and then proceeded to post her thoughts about what she had just done online.  While several of the posts were ones of regret, they still provided local law enforcement with all they needed to identify and arrest the two women.  Both women will be charged with child abuse.  One of the women will also be charged with aggravated fleeing and assault with a deadly weapon.  Next time they just might want to pay for the jewelry.  Read the original story below.
