The value of social media continues to unfold in our society.  Sites like Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and LinkedIn are still the darlings of the internet world and more and more people are tapping into them on a daily basis.  First, it starts with finding old friends.  Then old friends evolve into old girlfriends and boyfriends…BTW, that is where social media starts to have some backlash…but that is another blog post.  Pretty soon, these sites have the ability to take you over and eventually get you into trouble without you even knowing it. But there are always two sides to every coin, and just as Facebook can get you into trouble, it can also help get you out.

Earlier this month, Facebook showed its good side when it helped apprehend a robbery suspect.  Two teens were walking along a canal in Lake Worth, Florida, when two men approached them and robbed them.  One of the robbers looked familiar to the two teens.  In fact, they had actually been classmates with him.  After fleeing the scene at gunpoint, the two teens took to the internet and Facebook to help them.  They ended up finding the profile page of one of the robbers.  Police brought the young man in for questioning and booked him on two counts of armed robbery with a firearm and two counts of aggravated assault.  We are sure if he has obtained a bail bond yet, but is currently being held in Palm Beach County.  Read the original story below.
