In today’s post 9/11 world, one topic has become extremely taboo when it comes to security…and that is the word “bomb.” As funny as you might think it to be, making a joke about a bomb is a serious matter and that is exactly how security folks will react to it…seriously.
Just ask a Vienna, Virginia woman who thought she would sarcastically tell the security guard at Orlando, Florida‘s Universal Studios Amusement Park that she had a bomb in her purse. The security guard did not laugh at the sarcastic comment but instead followed protocol, detaining the woman and calling the police. The woman was booked into an Orange County Jail on a $10,000 bail. She must have contacted a bail bondsman, because she was released from Jail on Wednesday evening.
The next time you want to be the funny guy in the crowd, you might want to stay away from “bomb” jokes….because in today’s skittish world, those types of jokes will surely “BOMB” (c’mon, like we weren’t going to go there?). Read the original story below.
