ExpertBail Consumer Bail Bond Watch:  Consumers Beware of Bail Bond Agents Calling.

Have you ever received a phone call during dinner time from a person trying to sell you something? There is nothing more irritating than being interrupted by someone sitting in a call center half a world away trying to sell you something you don’t really need. Now what if the person on the other end of the phone was a bail agent, and they were letting you know that a loved one was in jail. Would you be upset? Would you feel like your privacy has been violated? The answer from most people is a resounding YES! And to boot, these unsolicited phone calls are not only annoying, they are illegal. If you ever get a phone call from a bail agent you should take down their information (name, company, contact and bail license) and then report them to the department of insurance or better business bureau. Things are tough enough when a family member has been arrested. The last thing you need is to have your phone start ringing with bail agents calling you to help. So it is always safe to follow the old adage, never give any information out to anyone who calls you….only trust the people that you call. Bail agents that resort to solicitation and break the rules are almost certain to be the same bail agents that will be a little less than honest in their business dealings with you. In other words….they will rip you off.

Consumer Bail Bond Tips

Find a bail trusted bail bond agent

One of the most difficult things to do in life is to know how to find a good service provider. Whether it is a plumber or a mechanic, knowing who to trust and what to expect are never easy. Now imagine if you needed to find a trusted resource for something like a bail bond….would you know where to look? Would you know who to trust? What would you do? Since most people don’t have a clue, we thought we would post some good consumer tips to follow.

• Is the person dressed professionally
• Do they have a professional website and physical office location
• Do they have experience
• How long have they been in business
• Are they selling you on price or service? Usually the “service” folks are more experienced.
• Do they have a license • Are they endorsed by a third party? (ExpertBail, Better Business Bureau, etc.)
• Are they friendly and approachable?
• Do they have any references?

At the end of the day, use your common sense. If the bail agent meets the criteria above and are responsive to your questions and needs, than they are most likely someone you can work with. Never make the mistake of going with the low cost bail agent, because you will get what you pay for. How to tell an Expert Bail Bond Agent from an Amateur Bail Bond Agent?
