If you have to Google how to commit a specific crime, chances are it’s probably not something you are even remotely close to getting away with. This guy found that out the hard way!
William Joe Johnson, 26, entered the bank and approached the teller. He then implied that he had a gun and told the teller to give him cash and ran from the bank afterwards. He caught away with an undisclosed amount of money that he apparently used on utilities, rent and a drug binge.
Cops found him a few days later at a local hotel and arrested him on a robbery charge. After doing a preliminary investigation, deputies said Johnson was desperate for money and Googled “how to rob a bank.”
Johnson was booked into the local jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Maybe he should have googled “how to rob a bank and get away with it.” Just sayin’.
