Carmageddon promises to be ‘The Mother Of All Traffic Jams’. Los Angeles traffic may be the worst in America but this weekend Carmageddon will be a traffic apocalypse of biblical proportions.
Los Angeles is bracing for a 2-day closure of a 10-mile stretch of the already jam-packed 405 freeway, which connects West L.A. to the San Fernando Valley via the Sepulveda Pass. The 405 will be shut down in both directions, between the 101 and 10 freeways, beginning tonight, Friday, July 15 at 7:00 PM and ending on Monday, July 18 at 6:00 AM.
Alternate Freeways:
The 5, 15, 23, 55, 57, 101, 118, 126, 210, 605, 710 freeways.
Public Transportation:
Metro Rail, Metrolink, Orange Line busway and MTA buses. Extra trains and buses will be added in the San Fernando Valley and on the Westside. On July 16 and 17, the Red, Purple and Orange bus lines are FREE OF CHARGE.
