Here we go again.  Another social media “genius” has discovered that Facebook is not the private world he thought it was.  A 19 year old Hollywood man was sentenced to one year in jail in Maryland for multiple offenses including a burglary conspiracy, a credit card offense and best of all threatening a judge on Facebook.  When will people learn?  Social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and Twitter are not private forums to share your deepest darkest secrets.  Rather, they are “very” public forums that get shared and seen by a much larger audience than you think.  In the last 3 months there have been several stories about people posting things on social media sites and getting in trouble.  And we aren’t just talking about minor offenses.  In fact, twice in the past 3 months there have been two people who have been arrested for threatening the President on Facebook…a felony that includes 5 years in prison.

At the end of the day, you can only sigh, close your eyes, shake your head from side to side and wonder…when will people learn?  Read the original story below.
