If you have been in New York in the past few years than you have probably seen him…or shall we say heard him.  We are talking about Evil Elmo and he is the topic of today’s bail bond blog post.

The man has made quite a name for himself in Times Square over the years…and he has done so while hidden away in a giant Elmo costume.  He is well known for his inappropriate antics with tourists in New York.  Usually it starts with simple harassment, but often it turns into harsh anti-Semitic statements being yelled at those passing by.

Unfortunately for the man, Evil Elmo has gotten himself into some deep trouble lately.  In addition to his harassing heckling, he also appears to dabble in a little extortion and blackmail.  His latest target was the Girl Scouts of America….yep….we said Girl Scouts.  Apparently the angry red fury kid’s puppet had a secret plan to extort $2 Million from the Girl Scouts.  Once authorities interviewed the Keebler Elves and determined that there was no association and that Evil Elmo was in this cookie caper all by himself they arrested him and charged him with extortion.  If you remember a few months back, Sesame Street made big news by introducing a new puppet character on the show.  This new character was unique because they had a parent in jail.  Well, Sesame Street has broken new ground once again and can be proud to say that they now have their first character in jail as well.  Read the original story below.
