ExpertBail, the nation’s first and only nationally branded network of professional bail bond agents, recently finished its “Student Bail Out” pilot program in Orange County California. The program is designed to educate young adults on the importance of making smart decisions and staying out of trouble. Additionally, students get an opportunity to learn about the criminal justice system and the vital role that both Sheriffs and Bail Bond Agents play within in it.
Last month, ExpertBail worked with a prominent Orange County high school to conduct a “pilot” of the innovative new program. Several students were selected to participate in the program, which involved a dramatic mock arrest and bail bond interview as well as a final summary article on the school’s website and a YouTube video of the program. ExpertBail Agent, Jason Meyerson of Bail Bond Professionals, a leading bail bond agency in Orange County and member of the ExpertBail Network, volunteered his time to help out with the program. “I think this concept is a really good idea” says Meyerson. “The reality is bail agents like myself are having these types of conversations with young adults and their parents all the time. To raise awareness around the importance of making good decisions at this point in their lives and to educate them on the criminal justice process, including the role that bail bondsman play is extremely valuable.“
Through its network of over 5000 bail agents across the country, ExpertBail is planning to roll this program out nationally later this year. “We have an opportunity here to make a real difference,” says Eric Granof, Chief Marketing Officer for AIA, the nation’s largest underwriter of bail bonds and creator of the ExpertBail Network. “Most people today don’t understand the role of the bail bond agents and only see them as how they are portrayed by Hollywood and the media, and that is never in a good way. The truth of the matter is bail agents are hard working small business owners that are in the business they are in not just to make money, but to help people…people who are usually not prepared for the situation they are in. What better than to take that element of our business and share it with young adults and try to provide them with some small nuggets of wisdom and guidance.”
