The Cedar City, Utah Sheriff is a constitutionally created office with duties prescribed by the Utah legislature. The sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer for the county and is elected every four years.

The Sheriff has been charged with the responsibility to maintain the public peace and protecting life and property of all citizens of Iron County. The Sheriff’s Office is comprised of several divisions which perform the varied duties required by Utah Law, the Criminal Justice System, and the public need.

VISITING RULES

    * Each prisoner allowed one, thirty-minute visit per visiting day. The thirty-minute time limit will be strictly enforced.
    * Visits are not allowed to be split or shared.
    * Up to four visitors are allowed at each visit.
    * Visitors must be at least 18 years of age or accompanies by a parent or legal guardian at all times during the visit.
    * All visitors are required to wear modest clothing.
    * All visitors sixteen and older must have a valid government ID, school ID is not accepted.
    * Visits will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
    * Personal visits may be monitored and will be recorded.
