How many times are we going to read stories like this next one featured in today’s bail bond blog post? Where someone does something stupid, usually illegal, and then brags about it on Facebook thinking that only their friends will see it. WAKE UP people…anything you put on Facebook or any other social media site like LinkedIn, Google+, or Twitter can and will be seen by just about everyone. And yes, you will get caught.
This past week, two West Virginia women, decided to steal a truck. Now if you ask anyone out there, stealing a truck is a pretty bad idea. But even worse than that, after stealing the truck, the woman decided to let everyone know how cool they were for what they did, so they decided to take some pictures of themselves in the truck. But that wasn’t enough, instead of just showing friends the photos on their cell phone they decided to post the pictures on the internet on Facebook. This is the point where poor judgment becomes an understatement and stupidity takes over. Were these two girls just too arrogant and thought they wouldn’t get caught or were they just too ignorant to figure out that posting the crime photo on Facebook was probably a bad idea?
As you can expect, police were able to track them down and arrest them. Both are now spending some time in the South Central Regional Jail. At the end of the day, it is probably a good thing that people like this are making it easy for law enforcement to protect the rest of us. Read the original story below.
