If you have an iPhone, than you probably have used the voice command feature, or as it is commonly referred as, Siri. You can ask Siri anything…and we really do mean anything. From directions to reminders to trivia answers, Siri is the ultimate know it all and a pretty good electronic personal assistant. Even when you feel a bit giddy and ask Siri an inappropriate question, she is programmed to respond with a funny quip of some kind. For example, if you say, :”I Love You Siri”, she will respond with something like, “but we just met” or “Love is such a strong feeling…are you sure.” Most of the time, the more inappropriate your question the funnier her response. And just for the record we are calling Siri “her” because the voice of Siri is one of a woman.
We have seen and heard some pretty ridiculous stories about inappropriate Siri questions but none come close to this next story out of Florida. According to a recent story on Fox News, a young man who had just finished murdering his college roommate over an apparent love triangle, used Siri in the worst possible way. Not being experienced with murder or what to do with the body, the man decided to ask Siri. He said, “Siri, I need to hide my roommate.” Siri replied, “What kind of place are you looking for? Swamps. Reservoirs. Metal Foundries. Dumps.” We aren’t sure what we find more offensive about this scenario, the fact that someone would ask Siri this question, or that Siri would have an answer like this.
Anyway, the man ultimately didn’t take Siri’s advice and ended up dumping the body in a nearby forest. What the man did not anticipate is that the inappropriate question he posed to Siri, is now being used as a key piece of evidence in the case against him. So next time you feel the need to ask Siri a question, keep it above the law and above the belt and remember what you say to Siri can and will be used against you in a court of law.
