In case you thought most criminals were evil genius masterminds like Lex Luther from Superman or Dr. Evil from Austin Powers (okay maybe not the best example), this next story might change your mind. The reality is that most criminals are not the sharpest tools in the shed and are definitely playing the game with a few less cards than the rest of us.
For example, this past week in Onondaga County in New York a burglar was in the middle of stealing some copper piping from a vacation home. While in the middle of the crime, the man got the itch for an ice cold brewski. He decided to grab himself a cold one out of the fridge. What he didn’t realize is that while he was quenching his thirst, he was also leaving behind a pretty big clue for law enforcement…his saliva or rather his DNA. Apparently his hands were full with the copper piping and he forgot to dispose of (or shall we say recycle) the beer cans. As you can imagine, right out of an episode of CSI, the police found the beer cans, tested them and identified the man by his DNA.
He is currently being charged with burglary and petit larceny and being held on a $10,000 bail bond. Read the original story below.
