Who knew that you could arrest lions?! Evidently, over in India, they had no qualms over arresting 18 of these man eaters who were suspected of recently killing three people.
Officials will be testing the lions’ prints and excrement in an attempt to 100% identify the killer. Once identified, the lion who is found guilty will be spending the remainder of its life in a zoo, while the others will be released for good behavior.
Humans have been attacked six times recently in the area and it was time for officials to take some measures to figure out how to reestablish a safe environment back into the community. That being said… they are lions… which are known to eat meat… which could be human…
“We think we have pinpointed the guilty lion, but we are still awaiting the results of nine more animals,” an official recently stated. They also will be observing the lions’ behavior, as lions who eat humans are generally more aggressive at the sight of a human being around.
India’s Supreme Court has recently ruled that some of the area’s lions need to be relocated to other states, in an effort to thin out the overpopulation of the lion numbers in the area in question. We’ll see what happens once the “ falsely arrested” lions get let back into the wild.
