An unattended truck was parked in the middle of Manhattan, New York and a man quickly realized that the contents were way too valuable for him to not rob it! And so far, he’s remained successful!

The man stole an aluminum bucket full of gold flakes from the back of the truck, which was valued at $1.6 million. The pail weighed approximately 86 pounds, but that didn’t phase him!

An armored truck company was making a pickup and left the back of the truck open momentarily. In that little bit of time, the man was able to walk right up and take off with the bucket of gold! It’s like a scene from a movie!

Surveillance footage was released that showed the man walking right up to the back of the truck, take the bucket and shuffle off with it in the middle of the day.

At first, you can see that he is about to walk right past the truck, but notices the bucket when he’s halfway by. He quickly turns back to grab it while two men are chatting in front of the truck as the suspect walks away with the bucket of gold.

The NYPD is still looking for the man, who is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150 pounds and between 50-60 years old. We are surprised to hear it was not a leprechaun who stumbled onto this pot of gold!
