Facebook Brag Leads to Jail Time Drag

Monday, January 26, 2015

Facebook Brag TimeFacebook is a great place to tell the world about your achievements.  From graduations to birthdays to vacations to promotions, people are sharing lots of great things with their friends and families through social networks like Facebook.  Today’s bail bond blog post is about the things that maybe you shouldn’t share online.

This past week in Mineral Wells, Texas a 22 year old man was arrested for posting something he probably shouldn’t have on Facebook.  The posting wasn’t something obscene or something vulgar.  It wasn’t even something illegal or illicit.  It was however something that in hindsight could probably be considered poor judgment.  The man posted the statement,

“So, I have 16 warrants out right now.  LOL.  They know where I’m at so, it must not be too bad.”

Within a few hours another person sent a Facebook message to the Mineral Well Police Officers Association about the post and as you can imagine they didn’t like being made a mockery of.   The officers found a good address and soon had the man wishing he hadn’t shared his warrant status online.  Oh well, at least he will have some time sitting in jail (about  51 days) to think about better ways to boast online and better accomplishments to boast about.  Read the original story below.
