Bail Bonds and Beach Balls

Bail Bonds and Beach BallsWhen you pack up your bags and head to the beach this summer, make sure you bring your blanket, your beach chair and your wallet...especially if you plan on playing frisbee or football with your children.  In a 37 page ordinance, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors earlier this week agreed to raise the fine for playing ball on the beach to $1,000.  Yes, we said RAISE the fine.  Most people don't even know that currently it is already against the law to throw a frisbee or football on a public beach.  In a time where the state is strapped for cash and counties are doing much better, it appears that everything is fair game.  But most consumers probably would agree that the time and focus of the Board of Supervisors should be elsewhere.  In a time where the jobless rate still sits at record highs, and a time where state prisoners are being redistributed to county jails and then being release without a bail bond into our local communities, it seems that time and resources of the Board of Supervisors would be better spent off the beach.
