Whether you believe in Santa Claus or not, one way to ensure your place on the naughty list is to commit a robbery on Christmas. Even worse is when that robbery involves stealing someone else’s Christmas presents. That is the subject of today bail bond blog post.
A Fairfield, Maine man who was charged with breaking into an Oakland couple’s home last Christmas was sentenced this week to 3 years in jail (actually, it will be only 8 months of time served) and ordered to pay $1000 to replace the stolen gifts. He was also ordered to purchase a $600 home security system for the couple. The most severe element of the sentencing was not handed down by the Kennebec County Superior Court, but rather by the big man in the red suit. Yes, we are talking about Saint Nicholas himself. He made a special appearance at the courthouse where he informed the man that he has been placed on the “Naughty List” permanently. The big fella was anything but jolly in his statement, but then again, could you really blame him. Read the original story below.
