While the presidential debates last night were filled with fiery speeches and contentious rhetoric, the real action happened after the debate when one of the presidential candidates was arrested and sent to jail. Was it Romney? No. How about Obama? No. It was actually Green Party Candidate, Jill Stein and her running mate, Cheri Honkala.
While Romney and Obama were slugging it out in the auditorium at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, the Green Party candidate was slugging it out in the streets with police. According to reports, Ms. Stein and Ms. Honkala, were protesting the rules barring her form participating in the presidential debates. They were ultimately both arrested for disorderly conduct. We are not sure if they had to post a bail bond or if they were released on their own recognizance. Either way, the candidate has a court date set just two days after the election on November 8th. The big question becomes if Ms. Stein pulls off the biggest upset in political history and gets elected president on November 6th, she will not only be the first woman and green party candidate, but she will probably be the first president to go to court two days later to face disorderly conduct charges. I guess we will have to wait and see. Read the original article below.
