Today’s bail bond blog is about people getting in trouble and arrested for things that you might not think they would fit the profile. For example, there are some crimes that you might reserve for the younger generation. Things like public disturbances, underage drinking and lastly, you know, the always interesting having “you know what” in a public place. Well in the timeless state of Florida, where the fountain of youth may or may not exist, one senior citizen may have had a little too much time on her hands and a little too much of something else on her mind.
This past week, in one of Florida’s well know retirement communities, a 68 year young woman was caught teaching the birds and the bees to a young man 19 years her junior…that means he was 49 for those who are a little slow with math. The crime wasn’t that he was so much younger than her, but rather the crime had to do with what they were doing and where they were doing it. And “doing it” is exactly what they were doing, and doing it in the public town square of a retirement community is where they were doing it at. Even though the retirement community touts itself as Florida’s “Friendliest Retirement Hometown,” we are pretty sure that this isn’t what the marketing or public relations people had in mind when they came up with that tagline.
Anyway, both perpetrators were allowed to pull up their pants and undergarments before being cuffed and arrested. According to authorities the woman was no stranger to the long arm of the law. Only days earlier she was arrested for driving a golf cart under the influence. We aren’t sure if the couple was cited and released or if bail was set and they found a bail bondsman, but either way, we think the woman’s children need to sit her down and have a good talking with her about appropriate behavior acting their age.
