Ask any sheriff about the role that bail bondsmen play in the criminal justice system and you will hear nothing but praise.  In a recent survey conducted amongst Sheriffs at their national conference, over 95% of sheriffs said that bail bond agents play an important role.  Earlier this week, ExpertBail Agent, Matt Dennis of Steve’s Bail Bonds in New Orleans, went out of his way to lend a helping hand to his community.

According to reports a fight had broken out amongst some people in front of the criminal justice court which happens to be in front of Matt’s office.  Several individuals were beating up a woman, until Matt stepped up and intervened.  He held one of the suspects until law enforcement arrived.  But Matt wasn’t done yet.  He went online and poked around a bit and found that the young man that he had detained was actually due in court that morning and had given authorities a fake name and birthdate.  Thanks to Matt’s quick action and knowledge of the system, he was able to keep a bad guy off the streets.  Why would Matt stick his own neck out to do such a thing…especially when it didn’t even involve his bail bond business.  The answer is probably because Matt sees himself as a vital part of the New Orleans community.  Not just as a bail bond agent, but as a person who lives and works there.  Our hats go off to Matt for stepping up in a situation that many may have not.  Read the original story and watch the video below.
